María Fernanda Higuera focuses her professional practice on Compliance, Corporate and Commercial Law, Labor Law, ESG (Environment, Social, and Corporate Governance) and Intellectual Property.
At Bertrand-Galindo Barrueto Barroilhet, she has adviced a wide range of local and foreign clients from various economic sectors in the development of their projects in Chile, particularly in the evaluation, negotiation and preparation of contracts.
Ms. Higuera has also developed significant experience in Compliance, advising companies in the design and implementation of Crime Prevention Models (MPD) under Law No. 21,595, as well as in adapting internal policies and procedures to the Karin Law (Law No. 21,643). She has supported clients in compliance matters related to labour and social security reforms, occupational risk management, and workplace investigations. Her practice further includes Indigenous Law and community relations, as well as assisting in ESG compliance, due diligence, and governance frameworks, with a focus on aligning corporate policies with both Chilean regulations and international standards.

Ms. Mira has more than 18 years of experience in civil and commercial litigation, both in ordinary and arbitration courts, as well as extensive experience in criminal law and special courts.
Ms. Mira co-heads the Litigation and Dispute Resolution department in our firm, leading a team with extensive experience and skills in both litigation, negotiation and alternative dispute resolution. Ms. Mira has advised domestic and foreign clients in negotiations and judicial proceedings before all types of courts, including the Supreme Court and Courts of Appeals.
She has been a professor at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, teaching courses on European Union Institutions and Law, as well as Public International Law.
